The R&R Alliance: Chiquita Clay Builds a Village for Atlanta Families
Learn how Chiquita Clay and The R&R Alliance support Atlanta families through caregiver workshops, youth life skills, and community resources.

Recognizing the caregivers in the middle
Chiquita Clay founded The R&R Alliance Inc. around a need for consistent support for single parents, grandparents raising grandchildren, caregivers, and young people. The organization’s founder page describes a 2024 Christmas Bash serving more than 70 children and their families as an early step in developing that mission. That participation figure is the organization’s own report. [1]
Working across DeKalb County and Metro Atlanta, the alliance positions family stability as a community responsibility. Its founder’s account connects material help with relationships and a longer-term support system. [1]
Programs with distinct audiences
The organization’s program page describes Community Cultivators, a workshop series for grandparents raising grandchildren, with information on public resources, advocacy, and wellness. The same page outlines the R&R Future Ready Lab for ages 11–15, focused on everyday skills such as communication, money management, and decision-making. [2]
A third offering, the Village Builders Series, is listed as starting in November 2026 for single parents. Its planned topics include financial literacy, legal rights, and balancing work and family. Because the series is prospective at publication, readers should contact the alliance for confirmed dates and participation details. [2]
Connecting resources with community life
The alliance’s events page also lists its August 2026 Backpacks & Beyond school-supply giveaway and names Jigi Deniro as host. That is a documented example of how community organizations can bring public-facing voices into family resource efforts. [3]
Our editorial view is that the alliance’s distinct audiences are a strength worth examining: a grandparent caregiver, an adolescent, and a single parent may share a household while needing different kinds of support. Clay’s published program structure makes those differences visible.
